The LORE MASTERPOST
This is a collection of all lore, canon and fanon, considered canon in Exodus's universe. The lore is open to suggestions from players (chuck 'em in the #worldbuilding channel on our Discord!) and may be modified at any time if the need arises.
LOCATIONS
______________________
WITHIN THE ARCHIPELAGO
- The Archipelago: A Summary
A basic summary of everything within the Archipelago, including tribes, dragon species, plants, and islands. Note that the list of dragon species includes all dragons within Exodus canon for ease of reference, not just the ones who are native to the Archipelago.
Some more in-depth information on New Berk, Fake Berk (A.K.A. The Outpost), and the Hidden World Outpost. Prone to change as the forum progresses.
__________
RI-RADILAN
- Ri-Radilan: A Summary
A land of desert and forest, Ri-Radilan lies directly south of the Archipelago. It is home to Ashriji, one of the most important and influential people in Exodus's plot. The document includes a basic outline of Ri-Radilan's geography and governmental structure.
In-depth information on Ri-Radilan's kingdom-states (colloquially known as banners) and their various cities. Includes a basic map.

THE NORTHEASTERN PENINSULA
- The Northeastern Peninsula: A Summary
A frigid place of many peoples and many faces, the Northeastern Peninsula, known by no more formal name, is, quite unsurprisingly, on the northeastern tip of the continent. The gigantic mountain range that splits it has divided it into multiple sections, and it is home to a countless number of warring tribes and kingdom-states. It's currently in a state of warfare and ecological collapse.
______________
DRAGON SPECIES
Specifically, fanspecies or canon species that have been heavily modified
A long time ago, the common ancestor of Furies split into several groups. This led to the evolution of Northern Night Furies - Toothless's kind, now nearly extinct - and Southern Night Furies, a species native to Karraitan.
Another descendant of the common ancestor, so-called, "Light Furies," flew north, and adapted heavily to suit their water-ridden arctic environment.
A highly-aggressive, cannibalistic species, Deathgrippers are rarely seen in the Archipelago. They are sometimes referred to as, "walking devils," thanks to their appearance, and their propensity to attack everything in the nearby vicinity.
Another species from the Fury evolutionary tree, Sand Wraiths are territorial coast-dwellers with nasty attitudes and habitual hostility.
A highly endangered species from the swamplands east of Karraitan. Their venom is rumored to turn humans into dragons. That's a myth, of course, as are many things about them, but make no mistake: their bites are highly lethal thanks to the rabies-like virus carried within their venom.
Shocksmashers are highly agile and friendly, and have a unique property: they absorb sunlight for energy.
These tiny dragons earn their fearsome name from their parasitic method of reproduction. Outside of the occasional tragic death-by-gnawing, they tend to be docile and easy to tame, though they don't obey orders well.
A crossbreed of Northern Night Furies and Night Lights, created hundreds of years ago and selectively bred into sturdy, diminutive, and domestic labor animals. Night Lights are significantly smaller and less intelligent than any other creature on the Fury evolutionary tree, but exceed in their ability to coexist with humans, used in tiny northern tribes in place of hunting dogs and ponies.
A species only distantly related to the rest of the Fury tree, Ghost Furies are bizarre rainforest-dwellers with scaleless skin, vivid blue mouths, and nostrils on their chest. They're highly aggressive and elusive, and found only in the most remote corners of the globe.
____________
FIGUREHEADS
Characters in Exodus who are exceedingly plot-relevant in one way or another.
The chieftan of Berk, for time being. I'm sure you all know who he is.
One of the warlords who funded the armada that went after Toothless. She serves as the forum's primary antagonist and forces of change, though 'antagonist' is a very strong word, as she's quite morally grey. She sees the kindness and personality within dragons and wishes them to be allies, and seeks to use their power alongside the might of her armies to end war and poverty in the world once and for all.
Note: this list will be updated as more particularly plot-relevant characters hop on board! This list is mainly for big players like primary protagonists and antagonists.
