The viking inhabitants of New Berk were rather welcoming of her presence, once she proved to be a helpful sort and not someone who would cause trouble. Any settlement had a healthy distrust of outsiders until they proved their keep, but apparently, the berkians had more reason to distrust outsiders, due to losing their old home some time before Ragna has arrived from someone who meant true harm. Her arrival being her half-dead, wounded, and likely to have perished in the cold waters of the archipelago if she hadn't been found by some passing dragon riders who carried her to safety. It was... still a bit of a culture shock for her that dragons and humans could live in peace, even after being raised on the notions that they were vile monsters to be purged from the face of the earth.
She did distrust the vikings a lot, and their dragons, but a bit less so. Dragons could be predictable if one knew what to expect. But being tailed by a rescued Hideous Zippleback that apparently claimed you as its human wasn't part of that. Okay, claimed as his human, she has to remember. Rift & Tide were a bit of a nuisance, but the pair were her nuisance. They acted like a sort of comfort for her, and body guard when she felt threatened. Otherwise, the spotless morph Zippleback just tagged along, even as she went about her day. If only the two would learn personal space...
"Rift, knock it off." She quietly scolded the left head as she tried to barter for some goods in the rather crowded market. Well, more crowded now with a big Zippleback blocking the way. Rift was either trying to steal some of the fish she bought for herself or just wanted affection, she couldn't tell at the moment. Tide on the other hand, just rested his head on hers, idly sleeping somehow as his twin poked around. She did feel better with them around as humans made her anxiety spike, but she just wanted to leave and go back to prepare some food in peace.
"Okay, you overgrown mutton brains, we're leaving." She told the dragon as she thanked the merchant for the last of the food she needed, and would have left peacefully... If she hadn't bumped into someone.
"Oomph!" She squeaked from the impact of a larger body, and honestly wasn't expecting it. "O-oh god, I am so sorry!" She quietly apologized to Gustav, who honestly looked just as surprised as she was. She thought so, anyways. It was hard to tell when someone had only one eye.
